General
Stuart Zender is the original bassist and co-founder of Jamiroquai. To summon his distinctively choppy sound, he uses the Ashdown SZ Funk Face: a dynamic filter effect pedal with an intuitive 3-button lay-out to adjust the output, drive and sensitivity. Inside the steel housing, there's a 12AX7 tube to generate authentic overdrive that can be toggled via the valve footswitch. Using the other footswitch, you can activate an auto-wah effect, with the switch on the side offering the choice between pre or post-wah. While the SZ Funk Face Twin Filter can run on 9 Volts, Ashdown recommend the use of an 18V adapter.
